Her Story

Vanessa Marble’s work is deeply rooted in her lived experiences as an educator and school leader. Throughout her journey—from working in elementary and middle school settings to serving at the high school level—she has consistently been drawn to students who needed more than traditional approaches could offer.

Early in her career, Vanessa began to notice a shift. Students were more connected to the digital world, navigating complex social dynamics, and bringing experiences into the classroom that weren’t always visible on the surface. She saw how quickly behavior was often addressed without fully understanding the context behind it—and knew there had to be a better way.

Rather than relying solely on consequences, Vanessa leaned into connection. She began asking deeper questions, building stronger relationships, and developing strategies that balanced accountability with understanding. Over time, this approach not only improved student behavior, but also strengthened classroom culture and educator confidence.

What started as a personal commitment to reaching her students evolved into a larger mission: helping educators across schools and districts better understand the generation in front of them. That mission led to the creation of her book, Bridging Generations, and her work through Youth Transcending.

Today, Vanessa continues to advocate for approaches that are both firm and fair—ensuring students are held accountable while also being supported, understood, and given opportunities to grow.
